Barrie Flint - Entrant

What an opportunity, having asked my brother on many occasions to put something together for the gallery he said, "you do it" now I can get my own back. My brother is some 9 ½ years younger than me and was and at times can still be a total pain, anyone having a brother with a similar age gap will know what I am talking about, he was only 9 when I had a severe accident in Birmingham whilst on leave, the upshot of this was our father put his foot down and no motorcycles were allowed around the family home. He used to borrow, without me knowing, anything that was not locked up in the garage I rented from a local widow. I returned to the garage one night to get something and found that a Raleigh RM6 moped was missing. This was in the process of being tuned for a local moped race, after driving round a bit it was found outside one of his friends house, when he returned to put it back he was met by me, brotherly love went out the window for a short time.

The photo's above show him at the seaside at Butlins, Clacton in his 'Classic' car at home in Hodge hill Birmingham and finally in this group being looked after by me at Bounemouth in the gardens near the Triangle where we had relatives.

After passing his 'Cycling Proficiency test', anyone remember those? riding round a simulated obstacle sourse around the school playground, followed with an observed road course of around 3 miles, no doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong. He eventually graduated to a Berkeley three wheeler whilst I had got married and moved so we never got together too much. On his semi regular trips to the darkest Shropshire, where I was living, always in a different car my children looked forward to going for a ride 'round the block'.

He had a couple of bikes but only smaller ones and preferred to be around the Classic Car scene, caravanning and the pub, which he still pursues now, and can be found consuming much beer each night. He purchased his outfit after being away with me in mine and thought this preferable to a solo, he has an RD350YPVS which needs a bit of work, guess who's pencilled in for that? And also he bought one of the little Chinese bikes like mine.
