Geoff Carr - Entrant - St Albans

I am the greatest thing since sliced bread (Ness' words not mine :-) .... just kidding :-) Started riding in the good ole' days on a C15 (second hand from my brother) - Looked beautiful but a shame about the engine. Still it got me through my test and from there I bought the best bike in the world ... A '57 NORTON Dominator 99, in Cafe racer trim which I changed back to original spec as I was given all the bits. That's the way I am - boring ole' ?art:-)
It took me down to Spain, two up with camping gear, in the mid sixties and the only thing that broke was the centre stand spring - bungee strap did the trick, no problem:-)

Then Marriage & kids etc. until one day back in '92 the company moved me to London Docklands. Travelling from St. Albans, a 100mile round trip per day was not going down well with yours truly inside the tin box, so major changes were required:-( Hence the wonderful Norton Commander I bought new back in Nov '92. She is still with me after some 125k miles & still loved by us.
Just to freshen up the stable, a year ago, May '00, we purchased an American spec ST1100 (3 years old - 5k miles on the clock & lovely V4 engine - still not as smooth as the Rotary though:-)

(This machine was stolen in August of 2002 nearly scuppering Geoff & Ness's holiday) Have done around 17k on it over the past 12 months including Eastern Europe & it is like any bike "just great" Also in the stable is a DKW Hercules 2000, part restored, to be completed when I get some money & Ness lets me retire so I have the time to do it :-) Youngest daughter off to Uni this year so another 3 years to wait :-( What a life us Grandads have to put up with! Keep the rubber down & the shiny side up, all of you riders out there :-)
That's all you are getting :-)
Geoff
