Ray Humphrey from Eastleigh, Hants entered the rally for the first time this year. Ray had been living with pancreatic cancer for a couple of years. According to Lynne his wife, he had to stop work as a photographer due to failing health and decided in the time he had left, to and "do" the rally and raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Lynne accompanied him to some of the landmark. Some of his friends from his local bike club went along for some of the rides out. He eventually earned 420 points for a Bronze award. Sadly though, Ray passed away on 25th October. We had his trophy "rushed" through in the hope he could receive it in time but sadly they arrived just too late. Ray took his last ride in a Triumph sidecar hearse on November 3rd and the trophies accompanied him on that last ride. Ray’s story is told on this website (Lynne is still building it).

Ray and Lynne worked very hard to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, their determination to keep going and to "put something back" is an inspiration to us all.

Because of this we decided to award Ray and Lynne, The Lynn Flint Award for 2006.
