Peter Etwell - Entrant

Aged 59. Located in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough. (originated in Batley in West Yorkshire)
Married: - to Grace since 1973 Children: Sons, Steve 29 and Jonny 18. Retired from full time work in 1997 as a power station engineer. Moved to Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station in 1979 from Elland.
First bike was a Triumph Tiger Cub, which a mate sold me in 1968. Some mate! This bike spewed oil everywhere and refused to go round corners properly (or was it me?) First time out I ended up in a beech hedge when racing round a bend in Mirfield. Lucky it wasn't a brick wall. After many more scrapes the bike met its demise one cold November morning on a cobbled street when it went from under me and under a HGV, which bent it into a nice uniform U shape.

What a good man though - the driver took me, and the bent bike home. In between though I did strip it down several times and discovered how these things work - good for an engineering apprentice.

After retirement I went through a Honda CG125, Cagiva 600 River, BMW K100RT to the Pan shown. Been doing the RBR since 2000 and enjoy it very much.

One day I'll get them all.

Other hobbies: I like all sports and have played Cricket, Rugby and Golf. Getting too old and infirm for all these, so travelling has become my main interest.

Beside 5 RBR's and numerous Welsh, National and Scottish Rallies I have done lejog twice and ridden to northern Portugal and back.
Just come back from Mozambique (2004 - not on the bike) - an interesting place.
